Work Package 1 has moved into active data collection. Building on more than 9,000 manually coded events from 1995–2020, the team is now combining machine learning and computational social science tools to extend coverage toward the project’s full scope: 1980–2030, 120 countries, and roughly 350 non-state armed actors.
The resulting dataset, GovConReD, will be the first open-access, global event dataset on governments’ attractive and repressive counstering strategies.
